Welcome to Particlese! In our first (monthly?) post we'll be outlining our reason for existing, our approach to business, and where we are going. But before we get to that...

Particlese starts life as me: Kevin Dahl. Backed up by my family, friends, and numerous colleagues who have supported the formation of Particlese. Which is why Particlese is referred to in the plural - all of these wonderful people have contributed their time, abilities, and knowledge to help bring Particlese to life. You know who you are, and I'll be forever thankful for your encouragement and support.

So why start a consultancy that specializes in particles? Because particles are everywhere and in everything. And what do we do about particles? Well, in the case of some products the particles are intended to be present and we simply characterize the distribution of particles and their chemistry. In other cases the presence of particles denotes an absolute critical failure of the product. Remember the near panic when dark particles were found in COVID vaccine vials during administration in Japan? This was the latest, and certainly highest visibility, instance of newsworthy particulates in memory. But many people never realize that particles, good and bad, are in everything we consume. And that is why Particlese exists - to provide access to extensive experience in the assessment and characterization of particulates to a wider community.

And how will Particlese accomplish this? With absolute client focus. Your unique challenges are important, often expensive, and inherently time sensitive. As industries broadly move towards virtualization and outsourcing of traditionally in-house analytical functions, having partners with highly specialized skillsets will make the difference. And Particlese will be there as your trusted advisor and partner. We provide expert, honest assessments of your particle needs on your timelines, always. We operate ethically and without bias towards single approaches. We are transparent and communicate clearly. And if, for some reason, we can't meet these standards for your specific inquiry, we have extensive contacts in the particle community that we will refer you to who can help.

Particlese's first goal is to live up to the standards outlined in the previous paragraph. Every time. We'd like to become a go-to organization for helping the commercial sector with their particle needs. Beyond pampering our clients, we'll seek to collaborate with commercial science partners, academics, and instrument vendors to stay on the bleeding edge of particle knowledge across the pharma industry. Eventually, we've set ourselves a target of publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts that will provide new insight into the study of particles. And that should cover the first six months...
